
A Legacy of Masonic Leadership and Military Service
Brother Roston Bullard, 33° was a highly esteemed Freemason, recognized for his leadership and contributions to multiple Masonic bodies. He was a Past Master of Lake Hall Lodge No. 33, F&AM-PHA, and an Honorary Past Master of Roston Bullard Lodge No. 708, F&AM-PHA. Additionally, he served as a Past District Deputy Grand Master of what is now known as District 22 and Past Junior Grand Warden of the Most Worshipful Union Grand Lodge of Florida, F&AM-PHA. Brother Bullard held distinguished titles in Scottish Rite Masonry, including Grand Inspector General of the Florida Council of Deliberation, United Supreme Council, A.A.S.R. PHA, SJ, and Florida Scottish Rite Overseer. He was also a Past Deputy for the Orient of Florida (Scottish Rite Masonry), a Past Potentate Noble (A.E.A.O.N.M.S.), and a Deputy Grand Officer across all Houses in York Rite Masonry. While some records have been lost, the Jurisdiction believes Brother Bullard may have been honored as an Honorary Past Grand Master of the MWUGL of Florida, F&AM-PHA.
Military Service and Family Legacy
Born on September 5, 1916, Brother Bullard proudly served as a Seaman First Class in the United States Navy during World War II. He passed away on April 2, 2012, in Nashville, Tennessee. According to his obituary, he had a sister, Crecia Willingham, and a daughter, Shirley Talley (1942-2023), whose children include Angie Talley and Paul A. Talley, Jr., along with a great-grandchild, Alexia Talley-Brown. There is also evidence suggesting he fathered another daughter, Ella Doris Reeves of Camilla, Georgia (1938–2019). Ms. Reeves’ obituary lists Lillian Campbell as her mother, Brother Bullard as her father, and Shirley Talley as her sister. Records from Golden Star Chapter No. 149, OES-PHA indicate that Lucia Bullard, Shirley Talley’s mother, was Brother Bullard’s wife. Lucia Bullard, who passed away in 1985, was a devoted member of the Eastern Star and served as Associate Matron and Secretary for the Chapter. The couple resided at 431 Garfield Ave., Winter Park, FL 32789, a property later sold in 2019.
Final Resting Place & Memorial Services
Brother Bullard’s funeral service took place on April 4, 2012, at Robert E. Lewis Memorial Chapel, Nashville, Tennessee. A memorial service in his honor was held on April 21, 2012, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Winter Park, FL. He was laid to rest in the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, Nashville, Tennessee.
